We LOVE Food Network’s cooking competition show Chopped. Great chefs, mystery basket ingredients, and the occasional finger vs. mandolin blood fest equal awesome television.
The show’s producers will be in New Orleans in a couple of weeks to interview possible contestants from our area. There are a ton of great chefs in Baton Rouge, please be sure to spread the word!

To celebrate 15 years in downtown Baton Rouge, Red Stick Farmers Market is hosting a Tailgating Throwdown on Saturday, November 5 from 8 a.m. to noon!
Individual and corporate teams can sign up to participate in a tailgating cookoff for a chance to win one of three prizes: Best Use of Local Ingredients, People’s Choice Award, and Tailgating Throwdown Champion.
There is a $100 entry fee per team, and there is no limit to the number of team members. That cost includes $20 worth of farmers market tokens, which teams can use to purchase ingredients from the market.
In addition to the cookoff, there will be live music, a food tasting, Bloody Marys and mimosas, door prizes, and fun activities for kids!
